Each skein is artistically hand dyed by me in small batches, using high quality, super soft merino yarns, and acid dyes. Because of this, each skein is a unique blend. The use of colorways as tonal, variegated or semi solid lends itself beautifully and uniquely to shawls, sweaters, hats, mittens and socks.

It is standard practice when using colorway yarn to alternate skeins every other row of knitting to prevent unwanted pooling. Alternatively, each colorways is unique and dependent on the project and needle size. Pooling is possible in any project and can either be allowed to develop or use the alternating skein technique to prevent it from happening.

As I dye in small batches of 4-5 per dye bath, please expect some variation from skein to skein (even within the same batch), as each skein is individually hand painted. I carefully attempt to take photos that accurately represent each colorway correctly, however color and intensity may vary with your monitor settings.

I dye my yarn with professional acid dyes which are non toxic and environmentally safe low immersion dye tested and conformed to ASTM 4236 labeling standard for non toxic materials. . The skeins are washed and rinsed thoroughly, although light bleeding may occur during the first wash. Hand wash in cool water (do not soak or use additives or “wool wash”) and lay flat to dry.

Care Instructions: Machine washable on a wool program ideally using a wool detergent at 30⁰C or below. Dry flat, do not sun dry or tumble dry. Avoid wringing and twisting.
